Clocks, What Do You See? December 4, 2008

In the Name of Allah(swt), Most Gracious, Most Merciful, I Begin:

May the Peace and Blessings of Almighty Allah(swt) Be Upon You All.

Can you tell me what you see when you look at a clock? Yes you see the time, but why be so NORMAL?

I am going to discuss my view of the clock, for a clock does not tell time, or the current time, a clock tells us how much time we have lost. Remember time does not wait for anyone, it cannot be paused, rewound or fast forwarded.

Take a good look at that clock, better yet find an analog clock and watch it as it ticks in one full revolution……………………………

Guess what? You just wasted one minute of your life. To you it just may be a minute, but for the man who has a gun to his head, for the cancer patient in the hospital, one more minute is more precious than anything to them.

One minute counts more than you think. Can you remember yourself being sick recently? I am sure you wished to yourself you could feel better faster, just to feel healthy for one more moment to brighten your day, so you can work harder and not just lay there and feel like death.

Yeah, I thought you would think like that too; guess again, now you are in good health and you are still lazy, unproductive and uncaring as ever.

We take advantage of our time on this earth. 200 years ago it was normal for someone to live into their late ninties, even to one hundred. Now the average lifespan of a person is 65 years old.

65? Yes!

Sad to say so, but time is limited, so as the clock ticks, it doesn’t click to just a new day, it clicks as if to say to you, one second gone, two seconds gone, 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year.

Then as if deja vu, here is December again, making those same new year resolutions you try to make each year and fail miserbaly. Why can’t you start the resolution now? Get a head start, what’s so special about starting it next year knowing you just may fail?

Ever said. ” Damn I am bored!”. How can you be bored when your time is passing so quickly. Just now you’ll be married, perhaps you already are, who is to say that car you travel in, that building you sit in each day, the roof you sleep under won’t crash! We all know the smallest error can cause the greatest of damages, something must be upholding all these complexities that man has placed around them.

It’s a miracle you wake up each morning, for one more day, 24 hours. Cherish those 24 hours as they may as well be your last. Next time you travel, think about why it isn’t you in that car wreck you passed on the freeway.

Time is of the essence and it really doesn’t wait for anyone. You just used up some of your precious time reading this, now you can do one of two things:

Remember what I said and act upon it, that way treasuring your time.

OR

Forget what I said and consider your time wasted.

There is a God, he controls time, you don’t, He knows how much time you have left, you don’t, doctors guesstimate, so in conclusion….

Man knows not when he shall perish, but man thrives in ignorance and fails to see the value of what he has been given because he dwells on the past, dreams of the future and envy what he has not.

Allahu Alam.
